With the right diet plan you can lose weight quickly and permanently. It is possible, but you have to be sensible. We all want a quick fix especially when we have a special occasion looming in the near future. And let’s face it the holidays are coming and there will be tons of occasions where you want to look your best. But there are five things you can avoid right off the bat so you don’t go wasting your time and money on diets that just don’t work. And by avoiding these traps you can then focus your attention on the right ways to lose weight fast.
Don’t Get Caught Up In The Latest Fad. Here are five diets to avoid because they don’t work and they are very bad for you:
1.) Low Carbs Diets
You may have tried low carb diets in the past. Atkins type diets that are way too restrictive. No one can live on this type of diet. They make your body function abnormally, causing irritability, loss of sleep and frequently headaches. Yes, you do lose weight and sometimes a tremendous amount of weight but I guarantee you that once you stop the low carb diet you will gain weight back very quickly. Your body needs the right type of carbs to function.
2.) Low Fat Diets
You may have tried the so called low fat foods that are prepackaged and sold in your supermarket. What you don’t realize is that these foods usually are high in calories. They are a waste of money. Plus they are usually filled with chemicals and additives to make them tasty. So not only are they not helping you to lose weight they are filling your body with toxins that will make you feel worse.
3.) Cutting Back on Food or the Starvation Diet
Your body needs food, it’s actually fuel for your body. That fuel helps you to burn fat and speed up your metabolism. Trying to lose weight by not eating is actually worse for you than gaining weight. Drinking only liquids or eating only grapefruit or something else crazy like that is something you simply can’t maintain for life. Eating this way will actually slow your metabolism to a grinding halt and negatively affect the way your brain functions. Starving yourself is not the answer.
4.) Following Pre-package Diet Programs You See on T.V.
These foods are based on limiting your portions. They are expensive. The food is usually substandard. You can cut your own portions with the food you have from home. So, it doesn’t make sense to spend your hard earned money on something you can do yourself inexpensively. And why would you want to be dependent on a program for the rest of your life?
5) Celebrity Diets
Face facts...celebrities get paid for endorsing these “Hollywood” diets. In reality that’s not how they lose weight. They work hard, exercise hard, eat great food with the right proportion of nutrients, have personal trainers - that’s how they stay slim. If you see a celebrity that has lost a ton of weight very quickly - it’s more than likely that they have hired a doctor to give them “something” to accomplish that or they’ve had liposuction or some other type of surgery.
If you learn how to combine the right amount of carbs, give yourself enough food to make your body satisfied, cut your sugar intake, drink a reasonable amount of fluids you can quickly lose weight and still stay sane. Your goal is to lose weight quickly and be able to maintain a healthy balanced lifestyle that will keep that weight off permanently.
