As a busy mother of two, I was always asking myself the same old question. What should I cook tonight? When I finally made a decision I would usually find out that I was missing one of the key ingredients for that meal. I would then have to get the kids ready for the car, drive to the store, find the ingredient and wait in line to pay. My children and I really did not enjoy doing this day after day. Save your family some stress by planning out your weekly meals ahead of time.
I finally decided to sit down with my husband to discuss this issue and to come up with a plan of how to decide what to eat each and every day of the week. Every Sunday night we would sit down at the kitchen table and spend about an hour discussing potential meals that we could cook during the week.
By doing this we were able to create a great variety in the meals that we cooked every week. We were also able to find a lot of old recipes that we had forgotten about. We now cook these forgotten recipes frequently.
Even though we spent almost an hour doing this every week, in the end we saved a lot more time because we would only make one weekly trip to the store instead of seven or more. I can now spend more time with my family and do not need to stress when it comes time to get supper ready. This is because I know what I am cooking and I know that I have the ingredients needed to make that particular meal.
My husband loved this idea so much that he convinced me to take it one step further and create an online meal planner that other people could use to help them with this same problem. We worked together on creating a very flexible planner that almost anyone can use.
You simply add your favorite meals into your own personalized recipe box. You then enter rules into the meal planner to indicate what days, or what meals, you would like it to consider choosing one of these meals. Once setup, every month you go click your generate menu button and your monthly menu has been planned, along with customized shopping lists. It couldn't be more simple!
We have also given away free access to over 100000 recipes from our database. Why not come take a look at http://www.fixingmeals.com/viewPublicRecipes.php. Maybe you'll find a great recipe that your family will enjoy!
