The game of poker is a very sophisticated game as it requires both mental and physical skills to be able to excel in this game. In the professional level the game can be extremely tense and require a lot out of the players to win the game. However for anyone to even start the game you much first learn the basic rules of the game to understand how it works and the first things to learn are the hands of poker.

The first hand of poker to learn is the straight flush. The straight flush consists of 5 cards from the same suit in numerical order. The straight flush is the highest ranked hand of cards a person can get because it is the lowest possible hand to get. Out of the 2,598,960 hands possible there are only 40 different ways you can get a straight flush. Out of the 40 there are 4 ways to get a Royal Flush which consists of the Ace, King, Queen, Jack and 10 from the same suit.

The next hand of poker which is the next highest ranked hand in poker is the four of a kind. The four of the kind is basically what the name implies. It is 4 cards of the same rank. 4 one's, 4 two's, 4 three's and so on to 4 ace's. Out of the all the hands possible in poker, 624 exist. Thought it may seem a lot, compared to the entire number of possible hands it is still less than 1 percent.

The third hand of poker is the full house. The full house consists of 3 of the same cards and 2 of the same cards. So 3 kings and 2 threes is a full house. 3744 hands exist, thought it may seem a lot it is still less than one percent of even getting it.

The fourth hand one must learn is the flush. The flush is different form the straight flush because it does not require you to have the cards of the same suit in numerical order. Instead they only need to from the same suit. 5,108 flush hands exist but this is still a miniscule about since it is about 1 out of every 500 hands.

The fifth hand of poker is the straight. Again this is different from the straight flush as it does not require the cards to be from the same suit but only in numerical order. 10,200 hands exist out of the 2,598,960 total possible which is less than 1 out of every 250 hands.

The next hand is where it somewhat starts to get reasonable. The three of a kind is exactly as the name implies 3 of the same card. 54,912 hands of three of a kind exist which is about a little over two percent.

The two pair is basically 2 different pairs of cards that are the same. So a hand consisting of 2 three's and 2 six's is a two pair. The chance of getting this hand is over 4 percent.

The next one is one pair and it is the same as the two pair except it is only 1 pair instead of 2. The chance of getting this hand is very high as there is a over a 40 percent chance to get this in your hand.

The easiest hand to get in poker is the highest hand but it is the lowest ranking hand in the game and that is the high card. There is over a 50 percent chance to get the high card.
